Getting her game on.

The day before the holiday break, we have our annual student-faculty basketball extravaganza here at school. Kate was nice enough to bring Emily down to watch Daddy buffoon to the indifference of hundreds of 7th and 8th graders. She seemed interested for at least six or seven minutes before deciding instead to dismantle every piece of equipment in my office. I can't blame her. This game is rarely pretty.
Nevertheless, the sweat poured, nobody suffered any catastrophic injuries and maybe, just maybe, a little fun was had. Most importantly (in my humble opinion,) Ems got a little gym time. Hopefully this will be a place she enjoys...cuz if she wants to see Daddy, she's going to spend a lot of time here.

Working on her defensive stance.
Hey...what's in there??
Waiting to sub in!
Daddy trying to show off...or pretend like he's still got it.
Number 42 there? Clearly not impressed.

I think she will always be fascinated by what you do of course all the while wondering why she so often has to go to daddy's work but there is usually music and dancing...so why not?

Tim,
Thank you so much for your blog! I stumbled across this as I was researching PFFD after our second ultrasound that found it on our unborn baby. We were completely blown out of the water by this diagnosis and are in the waiting game, which it seems like so much of what PFFD is. Baby is due in June and all we can do is hope the femur will continue to grow.

I want to tell you thank you because your blog has helped to bring me peace as I process through this huge obstacle that we are about to engage in. We feel overwhelmed by all the decisions that we are going to have to make and all of the hurdles that our baby is going to have to go through at such a young age. I wish you the best of luck with Emily’s upcoming surgery this summer and I will keep your family in my prayers.

Thank you again!

Hi Tim
My name is Aeryn. I'm 22 years old and had my 4th and final leg lengthening procedure done when I was 19. (I have unilateral PFFD of the right leg). My legs are the same length now and I got 14 inches of length total! I have read some of your blog, but not all, so I'm not sure where you are at in the process for your daughter. However I would like to HIGHLY recommend Dr. John Herzenberg of Maryland if you are looking for more opinions on what to do...especially if you decide to go with leg lengthening. He has always been my doctor since I was born in 87 and he is AMAZING beyond AMAZING! I could list a million great things about him, but alas time and space do not permit.

Anyways, if you would like to contact me (or anyone who reads this blog, too) feel free! I would love to answer any and all questions you have about PFFD.

All the best of luck and love,
